What Are The Different Types of PVC?
PVC can be divided into soft PVC and rigid PVC (also known as UPVC). Among them, rigid PVC accounts for about 2/3 of the market, and soft PVC accounts for 1/3.
1. Flexible PVC
The softener contained in Flexible PVC is easy to become brittle and difficult to store, so its use range is limited. Common soft PVC is generally used in floors, ceilings and leather surfaces. Extruders can extrude hoses, cables, wires, etc.; injection molding machines can be used with various molds to make plastic sandals, soles, slippers, toys, auto parts, etc.
2. Rigid PVC
Also known as UPVC, or PVC-U products. Rigid PVC does not contain softeners, so it has good flexibility, easy to form, not easy to be brittle, non-toxic and pollution-free, and has a long storage time, so it has great development and application value. It has a wide range of applications: pipeline industry, flame retardant electrical cable casing, electrical flame retardant switch housing, sockets, profiles, plastic steel, some fenders, bumpers, etc.
Each type has its own set of advantages and ideal uses in different industries.
